About

I'm driven to change the role business plays in solving the worlds biggest problems.
I used to work in social services helping society's most vulnerable. I later went on to found a startup that made it easier for businesses to be more environmentally friendly. I've repeatedly disrupted professions and industries to force them to face their problems. Along the way I've learned a tremendous amount and despite the ups and downs and long fought battles, there's so much I still want to learn and contribute. And I have far too many ideas and dreams that are ripe to make a difference in the world.
Spiritual Machines is the platform that will help me bring them to life. Here are just a few of my ideas.

Philosophy
Innovation and change extend beyond the realm of business; they encompass art, humanity, and the often-overlook details that surround us amidst the chaos of modern life. While Spiritual Machines does have a focused mission, I firmly believe that by pausing to understand the subtle and beautiful elements that form the foundation of our world is what truly empowers us to have a meaningful impact. Thus, this site will also feature a collection of art and other creative media that explores the nuanced and the often overlooked.
"Eventually, the distinction between humans and computers
will have become sufficiently blurred that when the machines claim
to be conscious, we will believe them." - Ray Kurzweil
Inspiration
The company is named after the ground breaking book called "The Age of Spiritual Machines: When Computers Exceed Human Intelligence" by Ray Kurzweil (1999). A non-fiction book by inventor and futurist Ray Kurzweil that discussed artificial intelligence and the future of humanity. It introduced me to the immense potential of AI, and I was captivated by the vision of the spiritual machine - and I never looked back.
